Bhutan Paralympic Committee to Host 7th Paralympic Festival 2026 at Gesarling Central School, Dagana
The Bhutan Paralympic Committee will host the 7th Paralympic Festival 2026 at Gesarling Central School in Dagana, bringing together more than 800 students in a celebration of inclusion, participation, and the spirit of sport.
Held under the theme “We See Ability,” the festival highlights a simple but powerful idea that inclusion begins with how we see one another. It encourages everyone to look beyond limitations and recognize the strength and potential in every individual.
Taking place within the Gesarling Central School community, the festival is designed to ensure that every student feels included and valued. More than 800 students, including 32 SEN students, along with teachers, parents, and community members, will come together to be part of this meaningful event.
Participants will take part in a variety of inclusive activities such as blind football, kids’ athletics, boccia, wheelchair basketball, para badminton, para shooting, and para archery. These activities aim to create understanding, build confidence, and allow students to experience inclusion through sport. The program will also feature an inspirational session by Bhutan’s para-athletes, sharing their journeys of determination and resilience.
A special highlight of the festival will be the felicitation of Mr. Cheyang Kuenchap of Gesarling Central School, who won a Bronze Medal at the Asian Youth Para Games 2025 in Dubai. Her Royal Highness Princess Eeuphelma Choden Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee, will grace the event and recognize his achievement. His success stands as an inspiration to young Bhutanese and reflects the growing potential of para sports in the country.
Through this festival, the Bhutan Paralympic Committee aims to promote greater awareness of inclusion and para sports, while encouraging a culture of respect, dignity, and equal opportunity.
