Ability begins when we stop seeing limits.
We rise together — stronger, braver, and more united.
Message from HRH Princess Eeuphelma Choden Wangchuck
Hon’ble President of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee
Dear Friends,
It is with great pride that I welcome you to the official platform of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee.
In Bhutan, sports is not merely a competition, it is a reflection of our deepest values as a nation. Guided by the philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH), we believe that true progress lies not only in economic gains but in the well-being, dignity, and fulfillment of every citizen. It is within this vision that the Bhutan Paralympic Committee carries forward its mission: to empower persons with disabilities through the transformative power of sports.
Para-sports are a powerful means to ensure that all Bhutanese, regardless of their physical ability, have the opportunity to participate in sports, pursue excellence, develop their potential, and contribute meaningfully to society. By creating an inclusive sporting environment, we are not only nurturing athletes but also strengthening social cohesion, equality, and the collective happiness of our communities.
We take immense pride in our para-athletes, whose strength, resilience, and determination continue to inspire our nation. Their achievements go beyond the podium; they challenge perceptions, promote compassion and understanding, and shine a light on the capabilities of all individuals.
We are investing in grassroots development, expanding access to inclusive sporting facilities, and forging strategic partnerships to create a vibrant and equitable future for para-sports in Bhutan. We are also committed to addressing systemic barriers: social, physical, and institutional, that limit full participation for persons with disabilities.
As we continue this journey, we invite families, communities, educators, policymakers, and partners to join hands with us. The inclusion of persons with disabilities in sport is not just a matter of fairness, it is a reflection of who we are as a nation, and of the happiness and well-being we wish to build together.
To our athletes, your perseverance inspires our nation.
To our coaches, your dedication, guidance, and tireless belief in your athletes are the foundation of every success and every breakthrough. You are shaping not only champions, but confident, empowered individuals.
To our supporters, your faith fuels this mission.
And to all citizens of Bhutan, I invite you to join us in building a future that reflects the very best of who we are: inclusive, resilient, and united in happiness.
Together, let us strive for a future where happiness is shared, ability is celebrated, and sports serves as a bridge to unity, dignity, and national harmony.
HRH Princess Eeuphelma Choden Wangchuck
President
